Canada to quit Kyoto Protocol

Canada plans to withdrawn from the Kyoto Protocol, the international agreement on limitations of emission of greenhouse gases, Canadian Minister for Environment Peter Kent said, ITAR-TASS reports.

According to the minister, the protocol will not contribute to the development of the country. Leaving the Kyoto Protocol would save about $13.6 billion for the state. The minister clarified that each family would save $1600. The conservative government believes that there is no other choice than abandoning the document. Fulfilling the Kyoto Protocol becomes even more absurd with China and the US, the world pleaders in production of greenhouse gases, still avoiding to join it. Canada would open new workplaces and see economic developments after leaving the protocol.
