Prokhorov wants to buy Kommersant

Russian tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov says he wants to buy the Kommersant newspaper, Ekho Moskvy cites RIA Novosti.

Previously the newspaper caused public attention after its chief editor was fired following the scandalous publication of a picture showing a ballot paper with words translated as "F... you, Putin"  written on it.

Mr. Prokhorov has recently announced he is going to run for president next year.
