The European Union is interested in the idea of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan forming a Eurasian Union, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said, RIA Novosti reports.
Ashton said that they had discussed the issue with Russian deputy chief of government Igor Shuvalov in Moscow. It will probably be discussed at the Russia-EU summit in Brussels, she believes.
Interested states need to decide themselves on integration processes within the framework of the Customs Union, the Single Economic Space and the Eurasian Union.
