Prokhorov, Kudrin have no chance to launch successful project - Lev Gudkov

Russian tycoon  Mikhail Prokhorov announced this week that he would run for president in 2012. Soon after this statement was made former finance minister Alexey Kudrin said that he was going to establish a new liberal party.

Vestnik Kavkaza asked Lev Gudkov, the head of the Levada-Center polling organization, to comment on the situation surrounding such initiatives.

"Both Prokhorov and Kudrin are trying to improve their image. That is all. They don't have any certain program," Gudkov said.

According to him, the former minister and the businessman have no chance to launch a successful project. Liberal opposition and the society don't support them.

Today former deputy finance minister, member of the opposition People's Freedom Party Sergey Aleksashenko told Ekho Moskvy that Kudrin and Prokhorov won't attract liberal voters as both are obviously pro-Kremlin politicians.
