Iran and Afghanistan have signed a memorandum of understanding on enhancing their defense cooperation in the wake of growing insecurity in Afghanistan, Press TV reports on Thursday.
The agreement was inked by the two countries' deputy defense ministers at the end of the first commission of Iran-Afghanistan joint defense cooperation in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday.
According to the agreement, Iran and Afghanistan reiterated the importance of bolstering bilateral cooperation towards the promotion of peace, stability and security in the war-ravaged country as well as the entire region, Press TV cites the IRNA news agency as saying.
The two sides also pledged to boost cooperation in educational, logistical, technical and engineering fields.
