Incumbent president loses elections in Transdniestria

The incumbent president of the unrecognized republic of Transdniestria (the eastern part of the post-Soviet republic of Moldova) has lost the polls and won't be able to take part in the second round of the presidential elections, RIA Novosti reports.

The republic's Central Electoral Commission has just published the official results of the ballot.

Two candidates are now running for president, they are Yevgeny Shevchuk, former parliamentray speaker, and Anatoly Kaminksy, an incumbent one.
