Four Russians die in Yemen disorders

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that four Russian citizens died in disorders in Yemen.

Earlier reports said that a group of Russians was having studies at the Dar Al-Hadis Religious Center in the town of Damag in Sa’dah Province. The Russian embassy in Sana’a says that there are 36 students and their family members. The students arrived in Yemen illegally.

The government and Sunni fundamentalists have been having clashes with Shiite confederates of Al-Husi since mid-November. 60 radicals have died, including four Russian citizens.

The Russian embassy is continuing efforts to contact the Yemeni authorities to assist in moving Russian citizens from the area.
