Lebanon urges peaceful solution to Iranian nuclear problem

Lebanon's ambassador to the UN says negotiation is the best and only solution to the current standoff over Iran's “peaceful" nuclear program, Press TV reports.

Addressing the UN Security Council on Thursday, Nawaf Salam said regulations enforced by the International Atomic Energy Agency allow all countries to carry out peaceful nuclear activities.

We all want a Middle East free from nuclear arms, but Israel is the only regime with atomic weapons which is not a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Salam added.
