Iosif Diskin, a political analyst and member of the Public Chamber, commented on the president’s message, noting that the initiative is now in the hands of citizens. The president set a strict limit for the legal sphere. The government is indeed expanding the legal opportunities of civil society, but is not allowing violations in the political system. Otherwise there would be anarchy and instability, Diskin said at discussions of the president’s message.
The political analyst believes that the government has offered clear mechanisms for realization of socio-political activity of the population, without demands for turning the system of control over to the public, RIA Novosti reports.
The expert noted the need to establish the public television that the president talked about. Everything is ready for realization of the idea, including legislation. It is now a matter of forming a monitoring council for supervision. He urged society to consolidate and not neglect the issue.
Diskin also supported the idea of President Dmitry Medvedev that people are to decide when they want to retire. But at the same time workers need protection from forced dismissals.
