Investigators often permit delays when investigating terrorist and extremist cases in the North Caucasus, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the District Prosecutor's Office.
"Significant shortcomings exist in the activities of law enforcement, especially with regard to operational and meaningful information aimed at preventing criminal manifestations, there are delays in investigation of criminal cases in this category, illegal suspension and termination of the investigation," reads the press release.
