Presidential elections in South Ossetia to be held in March 2012

The Central Electoral Commission of the semi-recognized Caucasian republic of South Ossetia announced today that the presidential elections would be held in March 2012, RIA Novosti reports. 

The previous voting was declared invalid by the Supreme Court and Alla Dzhioyeva, the candidate who won the ballot, called upon her supporters to protest against the court's decision.

The parties finally agreed on a rerun.
