Iran said that oil sanctions will force it to close the Strait of Hormuz, Trend reports.
Iranian Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said on Tuesday that “not a single drop of oil” would be transported through the strait.
The Strait of Hormuz is the main route for exports of oil and gas from the Gulf states. It connects the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. Iran controls the northern coast, while the UAE and Oman, US allies, control the southern.
