Despite many challenges 2011 was successful for Georgia, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri told today at this year's last government meeting, Trend reports on Thursday.
He said in 2011 country's GDP reached $14 billion, which makes $3,150 per capita. The prime minister compared this indicator with 2003 when GDP per capita hit $904.
Gilauri said the current indicator is by 3.3 times mroe than in the indicator of 2003.
He stressed the GDP growth is planned in 2012 and it will reach $3,500 per capita.
Gilauri also spoke about the priorities of the 2012 budget. "In next year's budget social sphere and public health will be our priorities and we will spend 29.6 percent of the budget in this direction," Gilauri said.
He said one of important planned reforms concerns pension package and insurance, which envisages insurance of pensioners and children underage 5.
Moreover, Gilauri said, 20 percent of the next year's budget will be spent on regional development and infrastructure. He also stressed that education and agriculture budgets significantly increased.
