Government troops have left Syrian cities - Head of LAS Observer Mission

Government troops have left the troubled Syrian cities, the head of the Observer Mission of the League of Arab States (LAS), Sudanese General Muhammad Mustafa al-Dhabi said, Reuters reports.

As reported earlier, the Advisory Board of the LAS has been negotiating the issue of the continuos presence of its observers in Syria. It was noted that the victims of clashes in Syria over the past week were 315.
The group of Arab observers, led by the Sudanese General Al-Dhabi, arrived in Damascus on December 26. The Arab League has been monitoring the situation in order to end the bloodshed in Syria and create conditions for dialogue between authorities and opposition.
