The problems between Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq may pose a danger to the entire region, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party, Turkish TV channel TRT Haber reported.
"If there is a problem in Iraq between religious sects, it may last hundreds of years," Mr Erdogan said.
Iraqi Vice-President, Sunni Tariq al-Hashimi was charged with terrorism. The court issued a warrant for his arrest in December 2010.
In his interview with TRT, Mr Al-Hashimi accused the Iraqi government of fomenting confrontation between religious sects.
