Chechen motorized infantry has received 19 command and staff vehicles equipped with GLONASS navigation and video cameras, RIA Novosti cites Colonel Igor Gorbul, head of the press service of the Southern Military District, as saying.
The GLONASS systems and cameras give information on the commander's location and an image of the battlefield. Information is transferred quickly and is protected.
19 armored vehicles R-145BM1 replaced BMP-1KS in the second half of 2011. They are are also used for communication links and may have contacts with 4 receivers at the same time. The communication range is 50-350 km, depending on the model. 2-carburettor engines were replaced with single-diesel ones using Euro2 fuel.
