The Analytical Center for Studies of Socio-Political Processes at the Moscow State University (MSU) will finance exit polls in Kazakhstan. Exit polls will be carried out on January 15, Gulmira Ileuova, President of the Social Fund “Center for Social and Political Studies “Strategia”, said at a press conference. Officials from the ruling Nur Otan Party were also at the press conference.
The project will be financed by the Information and Analytics Center for Studies of the Post-Soviet Space of Alexey Vlasov at the MSU. Ileuova has not mentioned the volumes of financing.
She reminded that exit polls were an instrument used by the opposition. Staff of Strategia had training in Moldova, part of whose experience was adopted by Kazakhstan.
The organization studied the processes in Mangistau in 2011 and has a good network in Janaozen. Strategi will inform the Central Electoral Commission about data from exit polls. Ileulova noted that Strategia had carried out such polls only at elections to maslakhits.
