Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has compared Georgia with the times of King David Agmashenebeli, who united the state in the 12th century, Georgia Online reports.
King David needed 34 years to return Tbilisi. Saakashvili said that he would not let foreign political forces, including Russia, cause regression in Georgia.
The Georgian president said that Russia is overexcited about the construction taking place in Tskhinvali after the war in 2008. According to Saakashvili, after King David and Queen Tamara, there was no such construction boost as in the last 15 years.
Saakashvili compared the situation in the two states. He said that Russia has numerous conflicts and “one in every four citizens is trying to abandon the country”. The president added that the population of Georgia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) no longer dreams about Russia.
