US Hillary Clinton said that Iran’s threats to close the Hormuz Strait in response to sanctions is provocative and dangerous, Associated Press reports.
Clinton said that the US would not allow the strait to be closed as an important route of global petroleum trade. She also denied US responsibility for the death of Iranian nuclear specialist Moustafa Ahmadi-Roshan, RBC reports.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported that the nuclear expert was killed by a blast in his car on January 11. The bomb was planted by a motorcyclist.
The Iranian Atomic Energy Agency said that nuclear developments will continue despite international pressure. It blamed the US and Israel for escalation of the conflict.
