Aslan Tkhakushinov has been inaugurated as leader in Adygeya, approved by the State Council, in Maikop, RIA Novosti reports.
United Russia presented three candidates after the end of term of the previous regional head in December 2011. They were Tkhakushinov, Prime Minister of Adygeya Murat Kumpilov and member of the Russian Federal Assembly Vyacheslav Shverikas.
Tkhakushinov received 45 out of 48 votes of the State Council, two voted against and one abstained.
He was President of Adygeya in December 2006. Before that, he supervised the Maikop State Technological University.
