Obama’s adviser and new US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul will officially arrive in Moscow on January 14, The Voice of Russia reports.
The main architect of the “reset in relations” plans to establish ties with Russia’s government, political parties, business and the public. He said that his main mission is to help Russians understand Americans.
The new Ambassador wants to expand ties between the two nations and, apart from government officials, he also wants to meet other politicians, businessmen, activists and ordinary people.
McFaul studied Russian at St. Petersburg and Moscow Universities during Soviet times and is an expert in Russian history and culture.
