Armenian governor sells factory for upcoming parliamentary polls

Kovalenko Shakhgaldyan, Governor of the Kotayk Region of Armenia, is selling his Armavto factory, News.am reports.

The factory has been cleared of scrap metal in the last three years. Its equipment and stored mechanisms are being sold.

There are rumours in Charentsavan that the governor and his son, the local mayor, are planning to run for parliament as candidates from electoral districts N25 and N31.

Shakhgaldyan may be trying to secretly sell the factory off, collecting finances for elections or “he knows what will become of him and is trying to get rid of all he can as fast as possible,” the source says.
