The Constitutional Commission of the French Senate took a decision against consideration of a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called "Armenian Genocide" allegedly committed by Ottoman Turks, Trend cites TRT Haber as saying on Wednesday.
The decision was taken with 23 votes for and 9 votes against.
According to the decision, the bill will be considered by the Senate, although the Constitutional Commission's decision will be taken into account prior to overall voting.
The Lower Chamber of the French Parliament previously adopted a bill criminalizing denial of the so-called "Armenian genocide".
