Russia and NATO approve military cooperation plan for 2012

Russia and NATO have approved a military cooperation plan for 2012, General Nikolai Makarov said, RIA Novosti reports.


Russia and NATO held joint drills called "Vigilant Sky" and "Bold Monarch". Drills were organized for medics, engineers working with explosives. The sides cooperate in combating piracy at the Horn of Africa.


Russia and NATO activate cooperation in Afghanistan, a region near Russian borders. The CSTO is concerned over the situation there. In general, the cooperation in 2011 was positive, Makarov notes.
