Russian Central Electoral Commission's chief offers his resignation

The head of the Russian Central Electoral Commission, Vladimir Churov, offered his resignation during a meeting of the commission today, Ekho Moskvy reports.

Members of the commission rejected Churov's resignation. Asked about his motives, Churov said that they should be quite obvious.

All Russian opposition groups have been demanding Churov's resignation since the December 4th elections, during which fraud was reported by both the opposition and international observes.
