Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin discussed problems of the South Caucasus, Transnistria and Nagorno-Karabakh with US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.
The sides also talked on other international issues. Karasin met authoritative US political analysts specialized in studies of Russia’s relations with its neighbors. He met Fiona Hill (Brookings Institution), Angela Stent (Georgetown Unviersity) and William Hill (National Military College).
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russian plans to continue mediation in settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents will hold a trilateral meeting in Sochi on January 23.
