T-72B1 tanks of motorized infantry have been replaced by modernized T-72BMs in Chechnya, Interfax cites spokesman of the Southern Military District Igor Gorbul as saying.
About 40 T-72B1s were taken to the Khankala Stations via railway for storage in the Krasnodar Territory.
Gorbul said that T-90A tanks, BMP-3 and BTR-82A armored vehicles were introduced for motorized infantry groups in North Ossetia, Dagestan and Abkhazia.
