Russian parliament may pass bill allowing parties to withdraw MPs

Vladimir Pligin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Legislature and State Construction, said that the parliament may pass a bill on withdrawal of MPs, RIA Novosti reports.

The bill was discussed by deputies of the previous calling throughout their terms of office.  Supporters of the party A Just Russia wanted to withdraw their member Igor Kasyanov, who was agitating against his own party.

A similar situation occurred with Vice-Speaker Alexander Babakov, another member of A Just Russia, who started running for parliament on the list of United Russia. A Just Russia failed to have him withdrawn.
