Medvedev does not rule out running for president

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev does not rule out that he may run for president in the future, he said at the MSU.

The president reminded that he is only 46 years old and may take part in polls. He believes that the decision was partly inspired by the protests at the Squares of Bolotnaya and Sakharov in December because some people were discontented by plans for the presidential polls.

Medvedev went on, saying that part of independent opposition today may form parties in the future. He denied effects of the protests on changes in the political system, adding that the reforms had been planned long ago. The president concluded that the old rules are no longer efficient.
