Today Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov was officially registered as a presidential candidate, RIA Novosti reports. The decision was made by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
Other candidates who had to collect signatures supporting their nomination probably won't be registered. They are the founder of the liberal Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky and Irkutsk Region Governor Dmitry Mezentsev. CEC experts consider more than 5 per cent of the signatures they presented to be fake.
