Syrian special forces have suppressed an uprising in the City of Hama, 220 km north of Damascus. Many terrorists were arrested and weapons and explosives found at the Bab Kibli and Jarajima Quarters, ITAR-TASS reports.
Engineers are taking down barricades built by the opposition of President Bashar Assad. A militant base was destroyed at the Apamea Fortress, 20 km away from Hama.
About 4,000 elite troops were involved in suppressing the uprising. The Syrian forces are restoring order in Idlib where a member of the Red Cross was killed on Wednesday. Reinforcements were sent to Homs and its outskirts to prevent a militant operation in Damascus.
