Armenia and EU hold new talks on association

Brussels hosted the 8th round of talks on Armenian-EU association on January 25-26.

Armenia was represented by Zograb Mnatsakanyan, Deputy Foreign Minister and chief negotiator. The EU was represented by Gunnar Vigand, Director of the Department for Eastern Europe of the EU Foreign Service, Trend reports.

The sides noted progress in negotiations of the basic principles of association, political dialogue, cooperation in foreign affairs, security and justice. They informed that talks on 22 points of the document regarding economic, financial and other issues had been concluded.

Armenia and the EU reached an agreement on starting talks on simplification of the procedure of visa-issuing, which starts in late February. The next association talks will be held in Yerevan in late March.
