Iran stops EU oil exports, imports

The Iranian Parliament has expanded the bill on reduction of oil exports to European states in response to the EU oil embargo that comes into force on January 1, 2012, ABC reports.

Naser Sudani, Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Parliamentary Commission for Energy, said that the bill has 4 articles that state Iran’s reduction of oil export to European states as long as the oil embargo stays in force. Another point of the document reduces imports from states supporting the sanctions against Iran.

About 18% of Iranian oil is exported to European states.
