Iran and Afghanistan expand cooperation

Afghanistan has hosted a session of the joint Afghan-Iranian inter-department commission for trade-economic cooperation. A memorandum on understanding was signed, Iran News reports.

The document was signed by Iranian Deputy Minister for Economy and Finances Behruz Alishiri and Afghan Deputy Finances Minister Moustaf Mastur after two days of negotiations.

Behruz Alishiri noted opportunities for further improvement of trade-economic ties. He emphasized that Iran strives for enforcing peace and stability in Afghanistan and prosperity.

The joint commission held its first session in Iran in 2010. The second session was concluded in Afghanistan. Iran will host the third session in half a year.
