Russian patriarch calls on believers not to join protests

Russian Patriarch has called upon believers not to take part in opposition rallies, Ekho Moskvy reports on Tuesday.

The remarks came as Muscovites are preparing for another rally, aiming to protest against fraud at the December parliamentary elections.

Patriarch Kirill said that "Orthodox Christians do not take part in demonstrations, they pray in monasteries and at home."
