Georgian Defence Minister Bachana Akhalaia has headed for Brussels to take part in a meeting of Defence Ministers of NATO members and 20 partner states, Trend reports.
A whole number of questions, including the operation in Afghanistan, will be discussed at the meeting, the Georgian Defence Ministry told Trend on Thursday.
Within the ministerial meeting Mr Akhalaia will hold bilateral talks with U.S. Defence Secretary Leon E. Panetta.
During the latest meetings in the U.S. the president of Georgia noted that the U.S. and Georgian defence ministers will discuss the issue of the transfer of both countries to a new stage of development of relations in the spheres of defence and security during their personal meeting.
