The Head of Abkhazia Sergey Bagashp has set up a government commission on the immortalization of memory of National Hero, the first President of the Republic Vladislav Ardzinba.
The chairman of the commission has become the Prime-Minister of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba – reports “Apsnypress” news agency. It’s members also became vice-speaker of Parliament Viacheslav Tsugba, the mayor of Sukhumi Alias Labakhua, the President of Abkhazian Academy of Sciences Shota Aristava, Minister of Culture Nugzar Loghua, Abkhazian Hero Givi Argba, artist Batal Jopua.
On the first conference the members of the commission discussed several variants of immortalizing of memory of the first President of the country. They particularly spoke of the possibility of publication of scientific studies of V. Ardzinba and also of suitability of awarding to the Academy of Sciences the name of V. Ardzinda. Besides this was made a decision that in Abkhazian state museum will be opened a special section devoted to the life, scientific and state activity of V. Ardzinba, international scientific conferences will be hold etc.
Also the 14th of May – the Birthday of the first President will be marked in the calendar as a historical date. V. Ardzinba died on March, 4 in Moscow hospital after lingering illness on the 65th year of life.
