Putin: the formation of parties based on ethnicity should be prevented

Vladimir Putin has warned against the creation of national parties in the context of more simplified registration procedures of political parties, ITAR-TASS reports.

Putin urged to take in account all the peculiarities of national territorial units in Russia.

The prime minister said that there are many sensible things regarding representatives of different nationalities, which often leads to conflicts on a national basis in the context of political struggles in multi-ethnic republics.

He also said that he believes in competition at the presidential elections and called his adversaries patriots, but their programs - not very realistic.

Putin criticized the CPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov for his proposal to introduce elections to municipal and district courts, as well as his program to nationalize natural resources, since according to the law "On Subsoil" all the natural resources already belong to the Russian Federation. He also rejected Zyuganov's proposals to nationalize the oil and gas industries. At the same time Putin expressed his disagreement with the diametrically opposite proposals of Prokhorov to privatize all the oil and gas resources.
