Russian State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul on February 6, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
The sides discussed international affairs, situation in South Caucasus and Middle Asia.
McFaul is the new US Ambassador to Russia who took office in January 2012.
The US and Russia are co-chairs in the OSCE Minsk Group for settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
