Putin arrives in Istanbul for "confidence-building" forum
Russian Premier Vladimir Putin has arrived in Istanbul to take part in
a session of the third summit of the Conference on Interaction and
Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA). As reports ITAR-TASS,
Putin will make a speech at the morning session. A number of bilateral
meetings are also scheduled for the visit.
It is expected that Putin will hold meetings with Turkish Premier
Recep Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul, Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanyukovich, and Kazakh President
Nursultan Nazarbaev.
CICA Member States include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Egypt,
India, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia,
Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Republic of Korea, Russia,
Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Qatar, Vietnam, Ukraine, the USA, the
United Nations, the OSCE and the Arab League are observers.
