India urges diplomatic way out of Iranian nuclear conflict

Despite increasing international pressure on India for joining sanctions against the Islamic Republic, New Delhi has once again stressed that dialogue is the only way to resolve Tehran's nuclear issue, Press TV reports on Tuesday.

“We would like to see the issue [the disputes over Iran’s nuclear energy program] resolved peacefully through negotiations," Indian Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said at the Center for Strategic and International Studies on Tuesday.

Referring to India’s stance on Iran’s nuclear program, Mathai stressed: “Our votes in  IAEA speak for themselves,” adding that the country believes “Iran has rights to peaceful uses of nuclear energy.”

"We hope that the negotiations between P5+1 -- Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany -- and Iran would resume soon and contribute to a positive outcome," the Indian official added.
