A US drone killed 8 Taliban militants in north-western Pakistan on February 8. Two more were injured. The drone attacked a Taliban camp 10 km from Miranshah, the capital of North Waziristan, Interfax reports.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that Pakistani servicemen had died in Miranshah as a result of US drone attack in January 2012. The incident caused an outrage in Pakistan and threatened to end cooperation with the US in fighting terrorism. The US has been trying to establish contact with the Taliban and opened an office in Qatar for the cause.
