Russian court says CEC decision not to register Yavlinsky as presidential candidate is legal

The Russian Supreme Court said on Wednesday night that the Central Electoral Commission's decision not to register Professor Grigory Yavlinsky as a presidential candidate was legal, Ekho Moskvy reports.

The Central Electoral Commission announced that more than 25 per cent of signatures supporting Professor Yavlinsky's nomination were invalid. The politician claims that the CEC misinterpreted the election law.
