The 11th round of discussions on security and stability in the
Transcaucasus region has begun in Geneva. The talks, which are being
held under the auspices of the UN, the EU and the Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), feature delegations from
Abkhazia, Georgia, Russia, the USA and South Ossetia, Interfax
reports.
The discussions are held in the format of two working groups - one on
issues of security and another on humanitarian issues. According to
the Russian Foreign Ministry the main goal of the meeting is the
drawing up of deals on the non-use of force.
The current situation on the border of Abkhazia and South Ossetia with
Georgia is on the agenda of the meeting. The debates will also touch
upon the problems of refugees and displaced persons.
