Syria rejects Arab League’s initiative on entrance of UN peacekeepers

Syria has rejected the resolution of the Arab League introduced on Sunday and decisions of the league in Cairo. The document included calls for UN peacekeepers to enter the state, Gazeta.ru reports.

Foreign ministers of the Arab League met on Sunday and decided to request the UN Security Council to send peacekeepers to enter Syria. The ministers decided to conclude the monitoring mission in Syria.

The resolution project contains calls for harsher economic sanctions against Syria and termination of diplomatic cooperation with the state.
