An Ossetian battalion is being formed at the 4th guards military base of Russia in South Ossetia, as stated by Galina Guchmazova, head of the press service of South Ossetian Defense ministry, Res reports.
The Ossetian battalion will allow professional military staff to be trained according to Russian standards.
Experienced volunteers no older than 35 may file applications to join. They will be paid the same wages as Russian servicemen, as well as benefits.
