Cyprus denies that Israel will set up airbase on island

Greek Cypriot President Christofias unequivocally denies reports that Israel was seeking establishment of an airbase on the island, saying that this was not even on the agenda, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid an historic visit to Cyprus on Thursday, declaring the two countries’ warming ties a “natural relationship”, reflecting the rapidly shifting alliances in this turbulent part of the world.
