Two Iranian warships have left Syria’s Port Tartus and are heading back through the Suez Canal, RIA Novosti reports.
Two Iranian warships arrived in Syria on Friday after Cairo and Tehran reached an agreement on the passing of the vessels. The Iranian group consisted of a destroyer and an auxiliary ship. The two ships took part in joint training with Syria.
Iranian warships passed the Suez Canal in 2011, it provoked tensions between Egypt and Israel.
