Kosachev to head Rossotrudnichestvo

Constantine Kosachev, Deputy Chief of the Russian Parliament’s International Committee and MP of four callings (2004-2011), may become the new head of the Federal Agency for the CIS Affairs, Compatriots Liiving Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), a functionary with links to Assistant President Sergey Prikhodko said, Vedomosti reports.

Kosachev is still an essential figure in the parliament as a member of the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, especially in the light of upcoming presidential polls.

The Parliamentary Committee for the CIS recommended replacement of Russian Ambassador to Moldavia Farit Muhametshin, who has been supervising the agency since its foundation in 2008, with his deputy Ivan Morozov. The main structures of Rossotrudnichestvo are centers for science and culture, with hundreds of officials working as advisors of ambassadors for culture. The structure has own budget, numerous diplomats and a lot of property.
