In Russia is being held a common voting day

A common voting day is being held in Russia on Sunday, March 14 - during this day there will be formed eight regional parliaments,  municipal assembly of eight and  mayors of the five regional capitals will be elected, and also there will be  held many other local elections and referenda, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Central Electoral Committee.

Totally, in  the country will be held more than 6 thousand different levels of elections and local referendums, voting will embrace, totally or partly, 76 regions in Russia.

Across the country, in tote, there more than 8 thousand polling stations are to open. The rule of law and order at the sites of elections will be provided by more than 80 thousand policemen and more than a thousand servicemen of internal troops.

Deputies of the regional legislative assemblies are being elected this day in the Khabarovsk Krai, Altai Republic, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, Ryazan, Kaluga and Voronezh regions.

In the Sverdlovsk and Kaluga regions elections will be held according to proportional system (by party lists) in the remaining six regions -  according to the mixed with an equal number of deputies elected by proportional and majority systems everywhere except in the Republic of Altai, where it will be one  "party" deputy more.

To get into the Regional Legislative Assembly parties will need to overcome the 7% "barrier” - everywhere except the Republic of Altai, where the standard is lower - 5%.

In all eight elections will participate all parties represented in the Duma: the Liberal Democratic Party, the Communist Party, United Russia and Fair Russia. The party "Just cause" will accompany them company in Voronezh and Ryazan areas, the "Patriots of Russia" party - in Ryazan and Kaluga regions and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

As for regional capitals, the City Assemblies will be elected in Novosibirsk, Ulyanovsk, Astrakhan, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Tula and Smolensk, the mayors - in Irkutsk, Omsk, Ulyanovsk, Krasnodar and Rostov-na-Donu.

Elections start at 08.00 and end at 20.00 local time.

Lags between the elections in the eastern and most western regions participating in a common voting  day is 10 hours - Kamchatka elections started on Saturday, at 23.00 Moscow time, and in the Kaliningrad region - at 09.00 Moscow time.
